Description: | Human FGF21 protein, expressed in E. coli |
Further Information: | Fibroblast Growth Factor 21 (FGF21) is a growth factor that belongs to the FGF family. Proteins of this familypossess broad mitogenic and cell survival activities and are involved in a variety of biological processes including embryonicdevelopment, cell growth, morphogenesis, tissue repair, tumor growth and invasion. FGFs act through a family of four FGFreceptors. Binding is complicated and requires both interaction of the FGF molecule with an FGF receptor and binding toheparin through an heparin binding domain. Endocrine FGFs lack a heparin binding domain and thus can be released into thecirculation. FGF21 action through one of the FGF21 receptors thus requires interaction with a co-receptor, designated?-klotho. |

Storage: | Lyophilized Human FGF21 proteinshould be stored desiccated below -20 C. Upon reconstitution, the protein should be stored at 4 C between 2-7 days and for future use below -20 C. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.131% HSA or BSA). Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles. |
