Description: | Small nuclear ribonucleoprotein polypeptide F, also known SNRPF, belongs to the snRNP Sm proteins family. There are at least seven isoforms, E, F, G, D1, D2, D3 and B/B. This class of common proteins plays an essential role in the biogenesis of the snRNPs. In addition, these proteins represent the major targets for the so-called anti-Sm auto-antibodies which are diagnostic for systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). SNRPF aid in the cytoplasmic construction of the usnRNPs by binding to aconserved Sm site on usnRNA and forming a stable snRNP core complex. Recombinant human SNRPF protein, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E. coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques. |
